PAY RATE: $23.00/hr JOB SUMMARY Personal Trainers design customized one-on-one training programs and help motivate clients to exercise. The personal trainer is expected to assess the client, address needs and monitor fitness progress of their clients on a case by case basis. Personal trainers ensure that their clients are using proper form when exercising and often encourage them to perform a workout that would exceed what they would do alone. The position is directly supervised by the Fitness Specialist and Fitness and Wellness Programs Administrator, and will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to: Instruct clients on proper machine usage, techniques, and other forms of training pertinent to the client’s specific needs. Educate clients on proper and safe exercise form. Enforce policies and procedures in group fitness activity areas. Execute risk management plan. Maintain personal training certification. Work within the scope of practice set forth by their certification and make recommendations as necessary. The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position.
