HIRING RANGE: $16.77 - $28.18/hour Performs a variety custodial duty in building and ground maintenance. Works in partnership with other employees, departments and divisions, external entities and the public in delivering effective and innovative services. The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Responsibilities

Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion. Employees must be able to perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Operate commercial floor equipment to strip and maintain floors, including scheduling of floor care. Perform general office cleaning, dusting, removing wastepaper, recycling bins, restrooms, etc. Performs general maintenance to municipal buildings. Maintains floor areas by sweeping, mopping and shampooing as needed. Maintains safe and clean exit and outdoor areas, ensures security of all doors. Assists with moving and installation of furniture and equipment, changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, installing soap and paper towel dispensers. Maintains all custodial equipment and supplies. Reporting Relationships Supervision Received: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. May take direction from Lead Building Custodian. Supervision Exercised: None.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to maintain and utilize City-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when conducting activities where the employee is exposed to risks above those encountered in a traditional office setting. If injured on-the-job due to failure to utilize PPE a safety violation can be taken. Ability to provide quality customer service and communicate directly with customers. Ability to problem-solve and adapt to shifting priorities. Ability to work within a team environment and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of safety procedures and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Technology Skills Computer and handheld Microsoft Go Pro for work order requests and asset management system

Completion of 10th grade; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

One or more years of commercial custodial experience.

with floor care machines, preferred. Certification/Licenses/Specialized Training Valid Driver’s license and good driving record Must successfully complete and maintain required state or departmental physical standards and certifications. Working in a safe manner includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and complying with all City and/or Department safety rules. Horseplay on-the-job is strictly forbidden. The failure to work in a safe manner, use PPE, follow standard operating procedure, or comply with a safety rule will result adverse employment consequences ranging from verbal discipline to termination from employment, including any applicable reduction in benefits under the Colorado Workers’ Compensation Act. Employees are also expected to encourage safe work practices by all co-employees, and to report any unsafe work practices immediately to a supervisor.

Pay Range

$16.77-$22.48 Background and reference checks will be conducted for all regular and some variable/seasonal positions.
